Through ‘Seasons’ our quarterly hard copy newsletter and our brochures we support ongoing customer education. It’s empowering to get to know your skin and its needs and to develop relationships with our products to ensure you’re using the right preparations over a lifetime. During which your skin goes through much transition; age, the seasons, hormonal factors including pregnancy, post natal, menstrual cycle and menopause.
Dr.Hauschka products may be mixed, if that’s appropriate, to gain optimum results for our customers. When intensive help is needed we may even mix a Cream Mask with our day care as well.
Most skin conditions change with the warmer seasons of spring and summer opposed to the colder seasons of autumn and winter. It’s likely you will need to change your day creams seasonally. It may be appropriate to even use differing day care for a week in the office (and associated air conditioned/dehydrating environment) as opposed to the weekend. As a general rule Rose Day Cream as the more warming and protective in autumn/winter and Quince Day Cream as the more cooling and lighter product for the spring/summer.
Our background is in producing homoeopathic remedies therefore we also use some homeopathic guiding principles in our skin care, such as ‘like cures like’. An oil for an oily skin seems to go against everything else in the conventional skin product world. However, in our experience harsh products just ‘strip’ the skin causing even more oil production. With our light, rapidly absorbed Normalising Day Oil the skin relaxes and balances.
Always treat your skin with respect. We think it’s fine to scrub the bathroom floor, but never to treat our skin in such a harsh manner. Our Cleansing Cream is to be used in a gentle ‘press and roll’ motion from the centre of the face outwards towards the lymph nodes. Correct cleansing with Dr.Hauschka supports our ‘no night cream’ stance for healthy, radiant skin.
Dr.Hauschka’s way is to support ‘correct cleansing’ with gentle products and only to use water based night treatment products. We do not promote the idea that expensive and occlusive night creams are conducive to a healthy skin. In fact the use of night creams impedes the natural elimination processes of the skin’s night time function. The skin needs to breathe at night and a cream impedes the process of waste elimination and renewal, nor do we believe you age whilst asleep and that in our experience heavy creams actually exacerbate a dry skin due to dependency. Also there should be no requirement to protect the skin from outside environmental influences while asleep.
The skin possesses its own powers of nurture and regeneration and skin care products should support these functions. This is what makes our preparations so unique.
